In June 2014, YOLA’s first class of graduating seniors said goodbye to the program that had been their musical home for the past four years. From learning to play in an orchestra, to trips to London, to meeting Gustavo Dudamel, their lives have been forever changed by music and by each other. We’re so proud to have been a part of their lives and wish every one of them well on their journey.

Through Gustavo Dudamel's Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA) program – inspired by Venezuela's revolutionary El Sistema – the LA Phil and its community partners provide free instruments, intensive music training, and academic support to over 600 students from underserved neighborhoods, empowering them to become vital citizens, leaders, and agents of change.
