Ten young musicians from our very own YOLA traveled to London with the LA Phil to participate in the orchestra’s International Residency at the Barbican Centre and the Future Play Symposium. Here, they’re rehearsing Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet” with other young musicians at Guildhall in anticipation of the Discover Dudamel rehearsal.
Through Gustavo Dudamel's Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA) program – inspired by Venezuela's revolutionary El Sistema – the LA Phil and its community partners provide free instruments, intensive music training, and academic support to over 600 students from underserved neighborhoods, empowering them to become vital citizens, leaders, and agents of change.
