El Sistema, Venezuela’s ground-breaking music education program, turns 40. Over the past 40 years, El Sistema has inspired individuals, institutions and groups to bring people together through music.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Music Director, Gustavo Dudamel was a member of El Sistema as a child. When he came to Los Angeles, he made music education a major part of his mission and the organization’s mission. Our own YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles) is inspired by the El Sistema system. |
