On September 29, 2013, the LA Phil played a side-by-side concert with YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles) at Walt Disney Concert Hall, conducted by LA Phil Music Director Gustavo Dudamel. In this video, get a behind the scenes look at the work that went into that landmark event.

YOLA at EXPO, located in South LA, is a partnership of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Harmony Project, and the EXPO Center, a Los Angeles Department of Recreations and Parks facility.

YOLA at HOLA is a full, cost-sharing partnership of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA).

Through Gustavo Dudamel's Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA) program – inspired by Venezuela's revolutionary El Sistema – the LA Phil and its community partners provide free instruments, intensive music training, and academic support to over 600 students from underserved neighborhoods, empowering them to become vital citizens, leaders, and agents of change.
